How to Connect WP Popups to MailerLite
1. Install the MailerLite Addon
To access the WP Popups MailerLite integration, you first need to install the MailerLite addon plugin, which you can download from your My Account area.
2. Create a MailerLite API Key
To connect WP Popups to MailerLite, you need to generate a MailerLite API key.
To generate an API key, go to the Integrations area in MailerLite. You can click here to go directly there. Or, you can open the drop-down in the top-right corner of your MailerLite dashboard and select Integrations.
Then, find the Developer API option and click the Use button:
On the next page, you should see your API key. Keep this value accessible because you’ll need it in the next step:
3. Add MailerLite API Key to WP Popups Settings
To configure WP Popups to use your API key, open your WordPress dashboard and go to WP Popups -> Settings -> Integrations. Then:
- Open the MailerLite settings.
- Click Add New Account.
- Enter your MailerLite API key and an account nickname to help you remember the connection.
- Click Connect to MailerLite.
4. Create MailerLite Email Opt-in Popup
Once you’ve set up the MailerLite integration in the WP Popups settings, you’re ready to create your email opt-in popup.
Go to WP Popups -> Add New to create a new popup. You can choose from one of the pre-made templates or use a blank template.
Then:
- Go to the Email Marketing tab
- Select MailerLite
- Click Add New Connection
- Give your connection a name.
- Click OK
Once you’ve added the connection, you’ll also be able to choose which MailerLite list to use:
Just like any other popup, you’ll also be able to use the other settings in the template builder to control your email opt-in popup’s appearance, content, display rules, etc.
